  • 11:30 AM - Welcome Lunch and HM Annual Meeting
  • Learn about HospitalityMaine's vision for 2020 including the advocacy agenda, plans for developing a sustainable workforce, and the current state of the industry. Members will vote on the new board of directors. Featuring Greg Dugal, Terry Hayes, and Steve Hewins.

  • 1:15  PM - Session 1 - The transformative role of design in hospitality (Lodging and Restaurant Track)
  • Decor, color, texture, sound, menus and signage all impact the guest experience and can influence consumer decisions. Ealain Studio is a national hospitality design firm based in Portland ME and they will discuss creating a narrative and sense of place to fit your inn or restaurant, regardless of budget that can result in an increase in ROI.   • Peer discussions on the issues we all face. Topics include: Incorporating tech tools such as automation to improve your restaurant or inn operations. Network with colleagues to brainstorm solutions and new ideas. All participants, moderated by HM staff.

  • The "trick" to creating a more visible brand on social media is engagement - getting your guests to DO something with your social media content, leave you a review, or talk about you on their social media channels. During this fun and interactive session, you will learn tips to engage guests as soon as they walk through your doors. Walk away with easy-to-execute plans to build better relationships with your guests and increase your operation's visibility. Presented by Abbie McGilvery, Social Media Strategist
