Mission Statement
The ServSafe® program provides food safety training, exams, and educational materials to food service managers. Individuals can earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP), which is valid for five years, and recognized by the Maine Health Inspection Program.

The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by food service industry experts.

Motivate employees to follow safe and sanitary food-handling practices. Participants who pass the exam will receive their industry-wide acknowledged ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.

Through a third-party vendor, HospitalityMaine regularly holds ServSafe training classes throughout Maine. 

Class Options

HospitalityMaine, through our program administrator HRFoodSafe, offers several class options to ensure you and your staff have convenient certification options. The Live-Class option runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All tests must be taken at a class location, as required by law.
  • ServSafe® Manager Book via Priority Mail, Study Portal Access, Live Class, and Written Exam at class $145 (plus S&H)
  • ServSafe® Manager Book via Priority Mail, Study Portal Access, Live Class, and Online Exam at class $165 (plus S&H)
  • ServSafe Manager Online Course and Online Exam at class $179
  • Exam Only (no class or training materials) $99
    (you will be notified via email test-only arrival times)
