Rob Labelle Jr., Director of Marketing: The Nonantum Resort

Entering his third season at the Kennebunkport resort, the Husson University MBA and Dover-Foxcroft native has made a palpable difference.
An expert with numbers, he builds marketing campaigns that strengthen the business.
The ultimate team player also steps in to make beds, a skill he learned in the military and has not lost. This "ray of sunshine" makes everyone laugh, says innkeeper Jean Ginn Marvin, no matter the task. From Prelude Ice Bar detail, to handling unruly guests, LaBelle is the consummate pro.
In the community, he chairs the Destination Kennebunkport Marketing Committee at The Chamber of Commerce and is on the Maine Beaches Committee. He is a frequent participant making dinner at The Ronald MacDonald House.

Renato and Millicent Kriste
Owners/innkeepers: Glenmoor by the Sea

Seeking a more holistic life by the sea, the Kristes have become a friendly presence on the midcoast innkeeping scene in less than three years.

As proud stewards of the stunning oceanfront property in Lincolnville, they continuously strive to become more sustainable, free of harsh chemicals and less wasteful. With many physical updates and a strong commitment to guest service, Glenmoor now ranks among top 10 hotel properties on TripAdvisor for midcoast Maine and continues to grow under their vision.

“The concept of providing quality and memorable lodging experience in a beautiful setting while keeping it affordable and approachable for everyday people was really important to us and Glenmoor offered those possibilities," said Renato, former director of operations for W Hotel Boston.

Maddy Abbott: Food, beverage and events manager, Migis Lodge

From her high school days as a part time babysitter, to her current position as a hospitality leader and professional, Maddy Abbott is a reliable, competent force behind Maine’s classic summer lodge.

In 2013, the lodge struggled through an extended period of leadership transition and needed guidance. The recent college grad stepped up to improve recruiting efforts and staff training. She elevated service standards, managed schedules and seating charts to drive the guest experience in the dining room, and became the face of the operation, as well as one of the Lodge’s resident managers.

Her dedication to Migis and growth in responsibly has made this 1900's lakeside retreat shine season after season.
